Who we are

R&D Talent is a technical recruiting firm focused on the San Francisco Bay Area. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and our recruiting work, how we use and protect it, and the choices and rights you have. Questions? Email hello@randdtalent.com.

Information you give us

Employers and hiring teams: your name, company, work email, the roles you are hiring for, and anything you write in a message or share when booking a call.

Candidates: your name, email, area of expertise, LinkedIn profile, your resume if you choose to upload one, and anything you tell us in conversations about your experience, preferences and compensation expectations.

Information we collect automatically

When you visit the website, our hosting and analytics providers may record basic technical information such as your browser type, device, approximate location derived from your IP address, the pages you view and how you arrived. We use this to keep the site working and understand how it is used.

Information from other sources

As recruiters, we also find potential candidates through publicly available professional sources, such as LinkedIn profiles, company websites, conference listings and published work, and through referrals. When we contact someone this way, we tell them how we found them and how to ask us to stop.

How we use information

We use personal information to:

• respond to inquiries and schedule calls;
• run recruiting searches, including identifying, contacting and assessing candidates;
• present candidates to clients, only with the candidate's permission;
• manage our client and candidate relationships and agreements;
• improve the website and our services;
• meet legal obligations and protect our rights.

When we share information

With clients, only with your permission. We never share a candidate's details with a client without first agreeing it with that candidate.

With service providers that help us run the business, such as website hosting, email, form handling, scheduling and analytics. They may use the information only to provide their service to us.

When required by law, or to protect our rights, our clients or candidates, or the public.

In a business transfer, if R&D Talent is merged or sold, under the same protections as this policy.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Cookies and analytics

The website uses only what it needs to work. If we add analytics that use cookies, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

How long we keep information

We keep inquiry and client information for as long as we have a business relationship and as needed for our records. We keep candidate information for up to three years after our last contact, so we can consider you for future roles, unless you ask us to delete it sooner. We delete or anonymize information when it is no longer needed.

How we protect information

We use reputable service providers, access controls and secure connections (HTTPS) to protect personal information. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe and will notify you if required by law after a breach.

Your rights, including California residents

You can ask us to:

• tell you what personal information we hold about you and how we use it;
• give you a copy of it;
• correct information that is wrong;
• delete your information;
• stop contacting you about opportunities.

California residents have these rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA), including the right to know, delete and correct, and the right not to be discriminated against for using them. Because we do not sell or share personal information, there is nothing to opt out of. You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.

Children

Our services are for working professionals. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our services or the law change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated; significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
